City of Statesville emergency services are responding to an accident at Statesville Regional Airport following an aircraft landing crash at 10.15am EST. The airport have confirmed this incident, whilst multiple are reported to have died by Iredell County Sheriff the exact number is yet to be released by officials.
On-site personnel equipped for high-profile accidents are active on the scene but are awaiting the Federal Aviation Administration’s arrival to investigate further.
The aircraft, which crashed upon landing, is believed to be owned by NASCAR driver, Greg Biffle, according to public records but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Seven people were reported to be onboard the C550 jet owned by the former NASCAR driver, which took off before immediately turning back and attempting to land.
