Breaking News: An LOT Polish Airline Embraer skidded off the runway while landing at Vilius Airport (VNO) in Lithuania, halting operations on that runaway.

What happened?
The airport confirmed the incident in a statement on November 26, 2025, saying:
“At 13:43 today, a LOT Polish Airlines aircraft arriving from Warsaw, conducting flight LO771, landed at Vilnius Airport and veered off the runway while taxiing to the stand.”
Passengers were taken off the aircraft and there was no report of any injuries at this time. Moreover, the runway at Vilnius Airport has been temporarily closed until 17:00 local time, and it has been later extended to 19:00.
Currently any flights to the airport are being redirected to other airports.

The LOT Polish Airline flight L0771, that was operated with an Embraer E10 aircraft registered SP-LDK, had left Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport (WAW) at 12:01 local time today (November 26) and landed in Vilnius at 13:42 local time.
According to AirNav Radar data, it shows the aircraft on the north side of the airport. In photographs of the incident, several emergency services vehicles, including a fire engine, can be seen at the end of the runway at the airport.

The cause of the slide has yet to be known. Snowfall started across Lithuania early that morning and heavy snow could have contributed to the plane veering off the runway, although the airport has not yet confirmed.
