Flights from Jersey (JER), U.K., to Bordeaux (BOD), France, will take off this summer in what officials describe as a key step in improving Jersey’s European links. Regional carrier Loganair confirmed it will operate the service twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, from June 19 to Oct. 5.

New Route Links JER to BOD
The airline said the route forms part of its wider summer schedule and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen connectivity from Jersey Airport. Bordeaux becomes the latest addition to the island’s growing list of European destinations.
Jersey’s minister for sustainable economic development, Kirsten Morel, said expanding routes into Europe is essential for the island’s tourism sector.
“Branching further into Europe is vital for Jersey’s tourism industry to succeed,” he said, adding, “We’ve now got Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Dublin and Paris as European destinations. It will be fantastic for bringing people to Jersey and superb for islanders who want to go to big destinations.”
Morel added that future expansion would depend on demand, noting that successful routes could pave the way for further connections.

Industry Welcomes Expansion
Ports of Jersey chief executive Matt Thomas described the move as a positive development for both inbound tourism and local travellers.
“The introduction of direct flights to Bordeaux marks an exciting step forward for Jersey’s European connectivity,” he said.
Loganair chief commercial officer Ronnie Matheson said the airline remained focused on improving travel options.
“We remain committed to enhancing connectivity for Jersey and this latest addition ensures customers have even greater choice when planning their summer travel,” he stated.
The Bordeaux service joins other seasonal routes, including services to CDG, NWI and EMA, as airlines continue to rebuild regional networks.
