Welsh aviation firm AerFin, specialising in sustainable aircraft maintenance and the sale of aircraft parts, is being sold to Japanese company ORIX Aviation. This new deal is part of a 100-million-pound venture that will increase capabilities across both aviation firms.
ORIX Aviation takes over AerFin
ORIX Aviation is set to take ownership of the AerFin aviation firm by the end of 2026, once regulatory approvals are confirmed. This new deal comes as both firms look to broaden their operations, such as asset management and aftermarket solutions.
AerFin has global participation in the aviation industry. Its main headquarters are in Newport, South Wales, and the carrier is active in 60 countries across six continents. It has 600 worldwide customers and has found success with the company’s significant value increase. According to AerFin, the company reached a 97.85% increase in turnover and a 97.46% increase in gross profit. This has allowed them to increase employment by 30%.

The new transaction
Citing clear similarities in the way both companies want to operate, ORIX Aviation’s CEO, James Meyler, who commented on the new deal, said:
“AerFin has built a leading aviation aftermarket platform, supported by an experienced management team, deep technical expertise and a global customer network. Together, we will be well positioned to deliver additional value for customers and investors, while supporting a more sustainable aviation industry through the reuse and optimisation of aircraft assets.”
This joint venture will look to drive efficiency and sustainability in the aviation sector. The deal will endeavor to supply the increasing demand for serviceable aircraft material as the industry continues to grow.

The acquisition of AerFin by ORIX is regarded to be a major milestone and there is hope that the integration will ensure security for both companies within the coming future.
