Indigo to Launch New Mumbai-Copenhagen Route from October 8

Starting October 8, Indian airline IndiGo will begin direct flights between Mumbai, India, and Copenhagen, Denmark, marking the carrier’s first connection to Northern Europe’s Scandinavian regions.

What to expect from the New Route.

The new service will run three times a week, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.

  • Departure from Mumbai: 04:35 a.m IST
  • Arrival at Copenhagen: 10:05 p.m
  • Return from Copenhagen: 12:30 p.m
  • Arrival in Mumbai: Just after midnight

This connection offers convenient access to Nordic countries, Sweden, Norway and other Scandinavian regions, for Indian travellers.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers on the Expansion

Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers said:

“With every new international destination – Copenhagen being our 44th – we are inching closer to our vision of being a trusted global airline.”

Copenhagen becomes IndiGo’s 138th overall destination, becoming a prominent addition to the airline’s ever-expanding presence across the globe.

Adding to the Long List

This route is a part of IndiGo’s broader strategy to establish itself as a trusted international carrier. The airline has already added routes connecting India to major European hubs:

  • Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Manchester (England) – flights from Mumbai began in July 2025

Also expanding to central asian cities:

  • Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) – weekly flights started in September

IndiGo has provided new routes for Indian travellers, enhancing its brand and profile as an airline, with the future in sight and plans to expand once more to the likes of London (England) and Athens (Greece).

Elbers says these routes are a part of:

IndiGo’s international expansion and aligns perfectly with India’s growing economy and tourism industry.
