The IndiGo flight 6E3074 from Kolkata to Shillong on Saturday, Feb. 14, was delayed after a hoax bomb threat was found inside the aircraft. One of the flight crew members found the threat 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

Hoax bomb threat on Indigo flight
A hoax bomb threat was reported on an IndiGo flight bound for Shillong, in the Northeast of India, at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.
According to the Kolkata Airport Director, as quoted by news agency ANI, the threat was received on flight 6E3074, which was scheduled to depart at 9:30 a.m.
The threat was found by one of the flight crew members in the flight’s lavatory. They found a handwritten note claiming that a bomb was on board.
Kolkata’s Airport Director, Vikram Singh, said:
“During boarding, crew members found a piece of paper inside the aircraft’s toilet compartment, which stated that there was a bomb inside the aircraft. Immediately afterwards, passengers were removed from the aircraft. The aircraft has been moved to the isolation bay.”
After completing the mandatory checks, the airport authorities announced that it was a hoax threat.

IndiGo flight delay
There were 60 passengers on board flight 6E3074 when the flight crew member found the threat, and some had completed boarding.
As per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), all the onboard passengers were evacuated, and the aircraft was moved to the isolation bay in the airport for a security check.
IndiGo released a statement saying that,
“Following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), we informed the relevant authorities immediately and are fully cooperating with them in carrying out the necessary security checks.”
After completing all the safety procedures, the flight was declared safe for flying and subsequently departed for Shillong at 1:33 p.m.
