IAG Owned LEVEL Europe Files for Insolvency

IAG owned short-haul carrier, LEVEL Europe, announced today that it intends to file for insolvency. The airline announced today that it is unable to recover from the damage dealt by the coronavirus.

This makes LEVEL Europe the latest airline to file for insolvency.

The low-cost Austrian carrier is a direct subsidiary of Vueling Group — owned by IAG. IAG is British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia’s parent company. The LEVEL Europe group has also terminated trading with immediate effect.

LEVEL Europe operated six Airbus aircraft on short-haul routes in Europe. It was based at the Amsterdam and Vienna International airports under the LEVEL group.

It is important to clarify that the long-haul carrier LEVEL is separate from LEVEL Europe.

The official website confirms that all flights have been cancelled with no option for alternative flights. Employees have been directed to contact administrators to seek assistance in relation to the Administration:

All flights have been grounded as of March 2020 and the Austrian business has ceased trading with immediate effect. Please note that LEVEL Europe is unfortunately not able to arrange alternative flights for passengers.

An administrator will take over once initial proceedings have been completed.
