Turkish Airlines has launched its ‘UNESCO Türkiye Series’ amenity kits, introducing Türkiye’s rich cultural heritage to the skies. Inspired by Türkiye’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and traditional art, these kits present the country’s rich historical and artistic tapestry, all while embarrassing luxury and sustainable design.

The Artistry of Turkish Heritage

The new ‘UNESCO Türkiye Series’ amenity kits pay homage to Türkiye’s six iconic World Heritage sites: Nemrut, Göbeklitepe, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Ani, and Troy. These sites, known for their cultural and historical significance incorporate artistic elements like ebru {Turkish marbling} art and traditional carpet motifs. This thoughtful combination celebrated Türkiye’s contemporary aesthetics with thousands of years of ancient Anatolian artistry. Developed in tandem with the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, these kits offer more than just comfort onboard; they serve as treasures that connect travellers with Türkiye’s cultural and artistic soul.

Business Class passengers on flights lasting five to eight hours can delight in these carefully curated kits, which include essentials such as socks, eye masks, toothbrushes, hand and body lotion, and lip balm. As Turkish Airlines expands the collection, Economy Class passengers will be able to enjoy this cultural initiative on long-haul flights starting mid-January 2025.

Sustainability Takes Flight

Sustainability lies at the heart of the UNESCO Türkiye Series, and aligns with their vision of preservation and a greener future. Turkish Airlines has infused its cultural storytelling with a strong commitment to sustainability. Around 80% of materials used in the socks, eye masks, and toothbrushes are made from biodegradable and recycled materials. Formulated by the beloved fragrance house Ex Nihilo, they have masterfully converged luxury with eco-conscious design,  allowing the airline to maintain its pledge to sustainable travel while still offering passengers an indulgent experience.

The inclusion of eco-friendly materials demonstrates Turkish Airlines’ innovative approach to modern air travel, where heritage and sustainability coalesce seamlessly. With these kits, the carrier sets a high standard for balancing cultural representation and environmental responsibility.

Türkiye’s Legacy

Turkish Airlines’ Chief Operations Officer, M. Akif Konar, underscores the dual mission of the kits:

We continue to maintain our lead in the global aviation sector with our sustainability- focused approach and our vision of preserving cultural values […] This collection is a tangible expression of our efforts to present Anatolia’s millenia-old history and art to our passengers in a contemporary way. We hope our guests will form a unique bond with Türkiye’s deep-rooted past through these sets.’

The UNESCO Türkiye Series isn’t just an amenity kit—it is a journey through time, art and culture. With its unparalleled commitment to go beyond comfort and luxury, this initiative bridges the gap between the contemporary flyer and an ancient millennia-old world of artistic traditions. As Turkish Airlines remains a global aviation leader, with its 2025 Guinness World Record for flying to the most countries worldwide, this new series reinforces their devotion to preserving and promoting cherished cultural values.
