Etihad Airways has announced it will start operating its between Zayed Abu Dhabi International (AUH) and Tokyo Narita International (NRT) using its new Airbus A380 aircraft, in response to demands for increased capacity on services bound for Tokyo, Japan.
A380s Flying to Tokyo from Summer 2026
Etihad Airways has eight of the double-decker aircraft in its fleet. Tokyo is the newest city added to Etihad’s A380 network alongside London, Paris, Toronto and Singapore. Flights will begin operating on 16 June 2026, allowing passengers travelling between the United Arab Emirates and Japan to take advantage of more regular services and comfort onboard during the peak summer period.

The aircraft is particularly well-suited to this route, given the importance of business travel between the UAE and Japan, two nations with deep economic and cultural ties. Japan has always been a favourite destination for our guests, and this move reinforces our commitment to the market.”
Flight Schedule
The flights, operated using Eithad Airways’ Airbus A380 aircraft, will depart daily from Abu Dhabi and Tokyo Narita airports, according to the flight schedule below. The aircraft includes Economy, Business, First Class and The Residence, which is the world’s first three-room suite on an aircraft, complete with an en-suite bathroom and shower, as well as a private bedroom and living room.
- EY 0800: Abu Dhabi (21:25) — Tokyo Narita (12:45+1), departing daily;
- EY 0801: Tokyo Narita (18:00) — Abu Dhabi (00:20+1), departing daily.
