Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its digital booking capabilities by integrating its services with Pelicargo. The move enables direct API-based bookings and extends the carrier’s presence across digital airfreight marketplaces, particularly in the United States. The integration forms part of a wider shift in air cargo distribution towards digital platforms, as freight forwarders increasingly move away from manual booking processes in favour of automated and real-time systems.

Expansion of digital access and U.S. market reach

Through the integration, Emirates SkyCargo’s capacity and services are now accessible to a wider base of freight forwarders using Pelicargo’s platform. The system enables 24/7 booking, real-time capacity visibility, and direct access to tariff and contract rates.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said:

“The digital solutions that we have deployed globally have made a huge impact on the way we operate – from faster exchanges of critical information to more streamlined bookings. Onboarding to Pelicargo’s intuitive platform is the next step in our strategy, enabling us to better connect with both new and existing customers in the United States.”

The platform provides access to Emirates SkyCargo’s five core product categories, including temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, perishables, urgent freight, and general cargo solutions.

Multi-platform digital distribution strategy

With the Pelicargo integration, Emirates is now available across multiple digital marketplaces, including cargo.one, CargoAI, and WebCargo. This multi-platform approach reflects a broader strategy of increasing visibility and booking flexibility across different regions and customer segments.

The airline’s digital channels, including its own eSkyCargo platform, have seen increased usage over the past year as customers shift towards automated booking environments. The expansion into additional marketplaces is aimed at aligning with this change in booking behaviour.

The integration with Pelicargo adds another digital distribution channel for Emirates SkyCargo and reflects ongoing changes in how air cargo capacity is accessed and booked. The development is part of a wider industry transition towards API-driven and platform-based freight procurement.
