About the development

Emirates announced its schedule for upgrading and retrofitting its aircraft to multiple destinations, including Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Most of the upgraded service will be available from Oct 26 onward with enhanced capacity and deployments of newly retrofitted aircraft. The move aimed to respond to increased demand across the airline network.

Since the retrofit programme started in Nov 2022, the airline has already retrofitted 60 aircraft.

The airline will introduce a third daily flight to Milan with flight number EK101/102. The flight will operate with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The flights with destination Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires with flight number EK247/248 will run on a daily basis.

The flight service EK302/303 to Shanghai will be upgraded to Airbus A380. EK304/305, the second flight to the destination, will be operated with a retrofitted Boeing 777.

The third daily flight runs between Dubai and Singapore with flight number EK314/315 will operate with the airline’s flagship A380.

From Feb 1, 2026, the airline will replace its daily flight to Zurich with a flight number EK85/86 from Boeing 777 to A380. For the EK87/88 flight, the airline will present Premium Economy with a newly retrofitted A380 on this route for the first time.
