Emirates A380s are Returning to London Heathrow and Paris on 15 July

By Travel Radar Staff 2 Min Read

Emirates is going all out in expanding its international flight operations. The Dubai-based carrier announced yesterday that it will resume flying its A380s from 15 July.

It will begin by operating the Superjumbo on its flights to London Heathrow and Paris. It will subsequently deploy more of them to other routes as travel demand recovers.

The UAE government along with Emirates has recognized July as the perfect month to resume air travel. In line with this vision, the government recently relaxed some travel restrictions and is preparing Dubai for a reopening. Emirates is now also ready to welcome tourists from around the globe.

Travellers will now finally have the chance — after quite some time — to hop on the Superjumbos. Emirates grounded the entire A380 fleet in March following a dip in travel demand and international border restrictions.

There was also no point in trying to use them for cargo. As it stands the A380 is mostly “useless” for flying in a freighter configuration. The airline has instead been using its Boeing 777 twin-jets for repatriation, regular and cargo flights.

Emirates President, Tim Clark, affirmed last month that Emirates 115-strong A380 fleet “will continue playing an important part in the airline’s future.”This is understandable as Emirates, to this day, is the largest operator of the A380 aircraft.

Airbus is currently assembling the last A380 aircraft for Emirates in its assembly line in Toulouse, France. Following low customer interest — from mostly Emirates — and no new orders, Airbus shut down production of the A380.

Are you excited to fly on the Superjumbo once again?
