Embraer Strengthens India Presence with New Delhi Office

In a significant move to deepen its footprint in the Indian aerospace market, Brazilian aerospace leader Embraer has officially opened its new corporate office at WorldMark 4 in Aerocity, New Delhi. The inauguration event was attended by high-ranking dignitaries from both Brazil and India, including Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Brazil’s Defense Minister Jose Mucio, India’s Civil Aviation Minister Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, and the Brazilian Ambassador to India.

The newly launched office will serve as the central hub for all of Embraer’s operations in India, covering commercial aviation, defence, executive jets, services, and urban air mobility. The expansion highlights Embraer’s commitment to aligning with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives by scaling local capabilities in engineering, procurement, and supply chain functions.

A Two-Decade Legacy with Renewed Focus

Embraer’s journey in India began in 2005, with its E-Jets pioneering regional air connectivity. Today, nearly 50 of its aircraft operate across India, serving the Indian Air Force, civil government agencies, corporate jet operators, and Star Air—a commercial airline that exclusively flies Embraer aircraft. This latest expansion reaffirms the company’s long-term vision for India and aims to deepen engagement across both civil and defence sectors.

Francisco Gomes Neto, Embraer’s President & CEO, noted that the Delhi office marks a “bold new chapter” in the company’s India story. Embraer sees India as a pivotal market for innovation and growth, with the potential to become a global aviation hub. The office will also serve as a platform to boost collaborations with local partners and strengthen the company’s regional footprint. Read more about Embraer HERE.

Strategic Initiatives Across Sectors

Embraer is expanding its role in India across defence, commercial aviation, and urban air mobility. In defence, its aircraft support key missions like the Air Force’s ‘Netra’ early warning system and VIP transport, while the C-390 Millennium is being proposed for medium transport needs. On the commercial side, Embraer jets are helping connect smaller cities, with Star Air operating an all-Embraer fleet. Looking ahead, Embraer’s urban air mobility company, Eve, is partnering with local firms to explore electric air taxi services in cities like Bangalore. This growth reflects stronger India-Brazil ties and Embraer’s commitment to supporting India’s aviation future.
