EasyJet A319 emergency landing due to smoke in cockpit.

Smoke in the Cockpit.

On 5th September 2018 EasyJet flight U2-1746 fromĀ Berlin Schoenefeld to Toulouse diverted safely to Frankfurt Main due to smoke in the cockpit.

The flight operated by an A319-100 (OE-LQG) at FL380, when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and requested a rapid descent to FL100, due to conflicting traffic the descent was cleared down to FL180 until the traffic had cleared once at FL100 the crew decided to divert to Frankfurt.

The flight landed safely at Frankfurt just 17 minutes after starting the descent, A replacement aircraft was sent to continue the flight to Toulouse and reached its destination with a total delay of 7.5 hours.

The aircraft involved in the incident is still reported to be on the ground at Frankfurt.
