At the heart of the spectacle lies the United Arab Emirates’ relentless drive to position itself as a global hub for aviation, defense, and space innovation. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hailed the event as a platform where global partnerships flourish, cutting-edge technologies are explored, and sustainable solutions for humanity are developed.

Sheikh further noted:

“We are proud to host the largest edition of the Dubai Airshow, and we extend a warm welcome to all visiting delegates. The UAE continues to strengthen its position as a leading global aviation hub, shaping new horizons for the industry’s progress.”

Middle East Aviation on a Soaring Trajectory

The region’s aviation ambitions are nothing short of astronomical. Airbus unveiled a bold forecast, projecting the Middle East’s regional aircraft fleet to more than double, from 1,480 planes in 2024 to 3,700 by 2044.

Passenger traffic is expected to grow at a 4.4% annual rate, creating demand for 4,080 new aircraft, including 2,380 single-aisle jets and 1,700 widebody aircraft.

Significantly, widebody jets are expected to account for 42% of total demand—more than double the global average—cementing the Middle East’s role as a worldwide leader in long-haul aviation growth.
