Cathay Pacific opened its redesigned flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport.

Cathay Pacific Unveils Redesigned Flagship Lounge at Beijing Capital Airport
Cathay Pacific launched a newly redesigned flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport.
The airline held a launch event on August 15th to celebrate the reopening of the Beijing lounge. The event hosted by Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau, Director Chinese Mainland Arnold Cheng, Director Customer Travel Erica Peng and Director Service Delivery Mandy Ng, and attended by guest of honour Deputy General Manager of Beijing Capital International Airport Li Chun, and various industry partners and distinguished guests.
In addition to the redesigned Beijing lounge, Cathay Pacific is also running other lounges in Mainland China, including a lounge at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and a ferry port lounge at the Shekou Cruise Home Port in Shenzhen.
The move is a part of the airline’s extensive lounge enhancement plan. Earlier, the airline reopened The Bridge at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline converted the deck into an interim First-class lounge and expected to reopen it in 2026.
Cathay Pacific is expected to launch more new flagship lounges in Hong Kong and New York as part of its HK$100 billion investment into state-of-the-art aircraft, cabin products, lounges and digital innovations.

Design That Reflects Comfort and Local Character
The Beijing lounge used thoughtfully placed roofing and window orientations to bring in natural light and maximise views. It used materials such as cherry wood finish and limestone to create a residential feel to the overall space. The main lounge features selected designer furniture and lighting. It is also embedded with intimate spaces to enhance users’ privacy.
In terms of dining, the lounge offers three distinct dining propositions, including freshly prepared wonton, dan dan noodles, and regional Chinese specialities, such as Beijing bean paste noodles. There are many options, such as salads and baked goods, offered in the Food Hall.
Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam said:
“Having one of our best lounges located at the capital’s airport is especially important to us. The redesigned lounge complements Cathay Pacific’s seven daily return flights between Hong Kong and Beijing this summer, as we strive to offer customers greater choice and convenience — both in the air and on the ground — when they travel with us.”
Cathay Director Customer Travel Erica Peng said:
“Our commitment to delivering comfort and human-centric design is thoughtfully woven into every element of our redesigned Beijing lounge. From its layout and lighting to its furnishings and completely revamped dining offerings featuring a unique selection of special dishes inspired by local Beijing flavours, we seek to create the inviting ambience that mirrors the warmth and familiarity of our lounges in Hong Kong and around the world.”
