What do the numbers say?

The two airlines combined has transported 36 million passengers in and out of Hong Kong in the last year,  125,000 of those flying on the 27th December alone. Available Seat Kilometers have also increased by 25% compared with 2024, increasing the airline’s overall passenger capacity. The most increased traffic was seen coming from destinations in Northeast Asia and Mainland China, such as Shanghai and Tokyo.

This also comes after Cathay announced they would be supporting advancement of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Cathay Cargo has also seen an annual rise, carrying 6% more cargo than in 2024, with Available Freight Tonne (AFT) increasing by 8%.
