British Airways passengers will have a record number of direct flights available to them to North America for summer 2025. These record-breaking flights will go to from London to the US, Canada and Mexico. They will include over 400 flights per week during peak weeks in the summer and 26 US city destinations.

History of Partnership

British Airways has a rich history of building international relationships with other airlines to enhance their services. In 1999, they were a founding member of Oneworld, which now serves more than 900 destinations in 170 territories. British Airways remains an important member with 198 destinations and 72 territories.

British Airways have a particularly strong partnership with North America and have worked to build it further in recent years. This new 2025 expansion follows a similarly successful initiative from 2022. The airline expanded their US route network in time for summer 2022, adding 25 direct flights from US cities to London. Furthermore, they launched six new routes to cities across the US in the last decade: Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2018, Pittsburgh in 2019, Portland, Oregon, in 2022, and most recently Cincinnati in 2023.

In summer 2025, British Airways will offer more direct flights across the Atlantic than any other European carrier. Passengers of British Airways will be able to fly in comfort as the airline is also the only European airline to offer a First class cabin for its trans-Atlantic journeys. Additionally, they have made travel easier since arriving in the US as passengers can now connect to over 100 US destinations with British Airways’ partner airlines, including American Airlines.

Record-Breaking Number of Flights

Additional destinations flying from London Heathrow include:

  • Miami, Florida (MIA)
  • Austin, Texas (AUS)
  • Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS)
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PIT)
  • Washington DC (IAD)
  • Vancouver, Canada (YVR)

All of these additions are already available to book and customers are searching for them on ba.com. Summer 2025 therefore promises to be a record-breaking year for the airline’s routes between London and North America. High profile events such as Rod Stewart’s The Encore Shows in Las-Vegas (March-June), and the Miami Grand Prix (May) are pushing summer ticket sales as well.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said:

The US remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever before to travel between the UK and the USA.
