Air Uniqon is launching regular flights across Germany in partnership with Avanti Air. These flights will connect from the airline’s main base in Friedrichshafen (FDH), via Berlin (BER), to Hamburg (HAM) and Düsseldorf (DUS), with the DHC-8 chosen to operate these regular flights.

Avanti Air
The German-based Avanti Air has selected the DHC-8, a large aircraft designed to carry between 80 and 90 passengers, more efficiently than its predecessor, the DHC-7, due to its lower operational costs and turboprop jet engines. Avanti Air has taken to operating the craft, as it possesses the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), a prerequisite to fly commercially through Germany.
This is part of the “wet lease” agreement, which gives Air Uniqon (the lessee) the right to use the aircraft provided by Avanti Air (the lessor) to operate regional flights in Germany throughout the year, covering delays, new routes, extra fuel costs and maintaining capacity for flights during peak seasons.

Air Uniqon: A German Start-Up
Founded by Fabian Rosenberg in February 2025, Air Uniqon is a virtual start-up airline in Germany that launched its inaugural service on Jan. 12, 2026, and whose partnership with Avanti Air has enabled it to connect regional commercial flights to four major German cities.
Fabian Rosenberg, managing director and CEO of Air Uniqon, said he was “passionate” about the new air connections and added they would create a “reliable alternative” to other modes of transportation.
