Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti have signed a codeshare agreement last week, aimed at simplifying visitors’ travel plans to the islands of Tahiti.

This agreement will allow passengers to book their international and inter-island flights on a single ticket, marking journeys across French Polynesia more seamless and convenient, and will take effect on June 2, 2026, for reservations and trips.

The tail is decorated with a large white Tiare flower (Tahitian gardenia) on a blue background with wave-like patterns. The landing gear is still deployed as the four-engine plane ascends.

Expanded Connectivity between International and Inter-Island Routes

Air Tahiti Nui, an international carrier, will be able to apply its TN code to selected flights operated by Air Tahiti, an inter-island carrier, and provide passengers with a single ticket covering their international flight to Bora Bora, French Polynesia or Rarotonga, Cook Islands.

Initially, the agreement will apply to two flight routes:

  1. Bora Bora with 6 daily flights, operated on an ATR72 aircraft
  2. Rarotonga with 2 flights per week, operated on an ATR72 aircraft, which has 70 seats.

Air Tahiti Nui flights are exclusively operated on a fleet of Boeing 787-9, known as the Tahitian Dreamliners.

Meanwhile, Air Tahiti inter-island flights are operated on ATR 72 aircraft and ATR 42 aircraft, the latter of which offers 48 seats, currently available in economy or premium class.

From December 2026, an “all business” option will also be available on Air Tahiti Nui flights.

Airline Leadership Welcomes A New Chapter In Polynesian Travel

Philippe Marie, CEO of Air Tahiti Nui airlines, commented on the codesharing agreement with Air Tahiti,

By connecting our networks, we will offer our customers a more seamless experience with a single ticket to their final destination. This is a crucial first step in strengthening our joint offering with Air Tahiti, which we intend to expand with new routes soon. We look forward to offering this to our customers to further enhance the quality of our service.

Edouard Wong Fat, CEO of Air Tahiti Airlines, also commented

We are proud to see Air Tahiti flights operated under a codeshare agreement with Air Tahiti Nui. This new partnership between Air Tahiti and Air Tahiti Nui reinforces the strong and natural ties that unite our two airlines.

Air Tahiti has been based at Tahiti-Faa’a International Airport for 65 years.

According to the airline, this codeshare agreement will mark a new chapter for the two Polynesian airlines, united by a common ambition: to make travel to the Pacific even more accessible, seamless and memorable.
