In 2027, Air France will transfer all its flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport’s (JFK) New Terminal One, providing customers with an enhanced travel experience. The airline also unveiled a new lounge spanning more than 2,700 sq. m (29,000 sq. ft.), making it the largest lounge in its international network.
Air France enhances the travel experience
The new lounge will be the French carrier’s biggest lounge outside Paris and roughly triple the size of its current outpost in the airport’s existing Terminal 1.
Air France’s new JFK lounge will be one of the largest in any terminal at the airport, though not as massive as the Delta One Lounge in Terminal 4.
The lounge will showcase the French art of travel, will welcome LA Première and Business customers (excluding Business Light fares), Flying Blue Elite Plus members, as well as eligible travellers flying with KLM and SkyTeam partner airlines.
The facility is expected to span two levels inside the new terminal building, with space for more than 400 travellers. It will feature dining areas celebrating French gastronomy, working and relaxation areas, including a space Air France said it’s reserving for “beauty treatments”.
JFK’s New Terminal One
Air France’s new lounge comes as part of the larger multibillion-dollar Terminal One that’s currently in the final stages of construction.
The new Terminal One is slated to replace the airport’s existing Terminal 1 facility, where its lounge near Gate 1 offers meals, drinks, showers and Clarins facial treatments. The new facility preserves those familiar elements on a much larger scale, adding capacity for the airline’s heavy evening departure schedule and creating a shared premium space for travellers flying across Air France, KLM and SkyTeam networks.
The airline also noted that four of its daily JFK flights to Paris are scheduled with its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that carries the updated La Première cabin, placing its most exclusive onboard product on a route that will also receive its largest overseas lounge investments.
