Showcasing Canada in the International Arena

Air Canada is taking a leading role in representing the country at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympic Games. Along with a dedicated team of over 1000 members of athletes and delegations, Air Canada is successfully contributing to showcasing the best image of Canada. It has already proven all aspects of hospitability, solidarity, and connection. This is what Andy Shibata, the Vice President of the airline, has confirmed in his statement :

“Team Canada is a true reflection of our identity that inspires us to progress”

Thanks to this program, Team Canada is indeed having a special experience during the games. With a choreography of more than 250 employees through 20 branches and the coordination of multiple airports, they ensure that the flight and travel experience for the passengers is comfortable and enjoyable.

Diverse activities taking place in Paris, at home, and around the globe

Air Canada included a variety of celebratory activities to reflect Canadian culture. For instance, the airline team hosts events promoting Canadian cuisine, beverages, and musical shows, bringing Arkells and LOUD, famous bands for rock lovers, to the stage.

Moreover, Air Canada gives chances to win round-trip tickets to any destination to some supporters who would send messages via social media to the Canada Team. This is possible after they launched the Punch Your Ticket contest during the games.

The first celebration was not the end of it, as they planned the send-off celebration for the Paralympic Games before the opening ceremony on August 28.

The will to Include all Canadians in the Games

The airline has launched yet another supporting narrative on social media, Ticket To Dream, for the Canadian team, which debuted online on July 26. It intertwines the experience of two generations in a Canadian family and the unbreakable resilience of the athletes doing their best to represent their nation.

Air Canada brings the games to children in hospitals. They fly two young fans to Paris, offering them an unforgettable experience to meet their team at the Olympic and Paralympic games. This shows the goodwill of the airline to support and improve children’s health and well-being.

 A similar Fan Flight

It is absolutely not the first time Air Canada has given support to the athletes and the fans. Every year, they make sure to reward deserving sports fans who contribute to society with a fan flight to their favorite games.

For instance, here we have Matteo, a bilateral below-the-knee amputee and member of the national para hockey team in British Columbia, who gives enormous support to disability and volunteers regularly, says with excitement “ Everything we did was not expected and beyond imagination, the game was incredible”.

Let’s discover Air Canada

Air Canada is the largest airline in the country and flag carrier, it provides scheduled services to over 180 destinations and offers different services and travel options.  With a big interest in protecting the environment and following the Sustainable Development Goals, the airline aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.  The Canadian airline is also a founding member of Star Alliance, the largest transportation network, and it holds a Four-star ranking from Skytrax.

Air Canada operates a diverse fleet for its routes. It includes Airbus A330, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787, and many others for short-haul flights. The airline’s operations are supported by several divisions such as Air Canada Express, Air Canada, Jazz, Air Canada Cargo, …etc.

As we watch the Paris Olympic Games, endless companies and employees contribute to the security and well-being of all athletes and fans. Air Canada had planned for the comfort of its passengers and made sure they are having the most exciting travel experience while reflecting their people and culture.
