On 7 June 2025, Air Canada launched a new direct flight route between Prague and Toronto, marking a historical moment as this is the first trans-Atlantic flight after the pandemic that resumed connections between the nations, bringing increased connectivity between two gems for tourists.

Increased connectivity, boosted tourism
This new Toronto-Prague route, with 3 scheduled departures to both sides throughout the week, resumes a connection between Prague and Toronto that has been cut off since the start of the pandemic, according to Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport:
“The last time Prague had a regular connection to Toronto was before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. We are therefore very pleased that this route has returned to our long-haul offering in cooperation with Air Canada. We also welcomed the airline’s decision to operate the route with higher-capacity aircraft than initially planned. We expect approximately 25,000 passengers to use the route in both directions this year.”
With Prague Airport handling over 8.5 million people in just over 120 minutes, this new route certainly brings opportunities to boost tourism in both Prague and Toronto, both gems on their own continents.
Following the new route connecting Montreal to Porto, Canada Air expands its route map with ambition this summer, connecting travellers to popular tourist destinations.
