Air Canada’s inaugural flight on it’s new transatlantic service to Prague was met with celebrations as it touched down, marking the only direct service between Czechia and Canada.

The Only Direct Service From Canada to Czechia
The flag carrier for Canada was met with water cannon salutes and an official gate ceremony led by Jiří Pos, Prague Airport CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. This service heralds a new era not only for Air Canada but to bridge the gap between Canada and Czechia, promoting tourism, reconnecting loved ones, and igniting new business opportunities across both countries. Flights this summer will operate three times a week, departing from Toronto and arriving in Prague 9 hours later.

Expectation For 25,000 Passengers This Year
Operating until September 29th 2025, customers can cross the Atlantic in style on Air Canada’s fleet of Airbus 330-300’s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offering Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy. Air Canada’s General Manager Eastern Europe & Turkey Nedime Canipek-Konuksever announced
“With 8.5 million people located within 120 minutes of Prague Airport, we know this new route will be popular with those looking to travel not only to Canada, but beyond to destinations in the US, Mexico and Caribbean.”
Air Canada has also been praised by the Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport who welcomes their decision for higher-capacity aircrafts with an expectation of 25,000 passengers to use the route in both directions this year.
