Aeroplan Points Matching Week is back from October 6–12, 2025, offering Canadians the opportunity to triple the impact of their Aeroplan Points donations and help families access life-saving medical care for their children. The initiative supports the Air Canada Foundation’s Hospital Transportation Program, which provides flights for children requiring out-of-town treatment not available in their home communities.

Aeroplan Points Matching Week: October 6–12

For one week only, Aeroplan Members can donate their points to support the Hospital Transportation Program, and see their donation tripled. For every point donated:

  • TD, CIBC, or American Express will match it, up to 10 million points each
  • Aeroplan will also match it, up to 10 million points

In 2024, the same initiative raised a staggering 47 million Aeroplan Points, which funded flights for 129 children and their families, totalling 379 flights. These journeys often mean the difference between access to treatment or going without—especially for families in remote or rural areas of Canada.

Hospital Transportation Program: Real Impact for Real Families

For families like Maddox’s, the Hospital Transportation Program has been life-changing. Born in Cape Breton, Maddox was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that causes bones to break easily. Her specialised care is only available in Montréal, at Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada, over 1,300 kilometres from home.

Through the program, Maddox and her family are able to travel for the surgeries and treatments she needs, without the crippling cost of repeated airfare. Her story, like so many others, is atestament to the power of community and generosity.

Acting Administrator at Shriners Hospitals Kelly Thorstad, said:

“The Hospital Transportation Program is a vital partner in making that care accessible. It has lifted a huge financial burden for families and made an immeasurable difference.”

A Legacy of Support Through the Air Canada Foundation

The Hospital Transportation Program was created in 2003 and is now one of the Air Canada Foundation’s flagship initiatives. It works in partnership with Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF) and supports 15 paediatric hospitals across the country, including:

  • BC Children’s Hospital, Stollery, SickKids, CHEO, CHU Sainte-Justine, and many more
  • Special partners like Shriners Hospitals for Children and the David Foster Foundation

The Foundation, launched in 2012, provides both financial and in-kind support to Canadian-registered charities, all focused on the health and well-being of children and youth. For more on Air Canada, click HERE.
