British aviation specialist AerFin has finalised the sale of a CF6 Engine to an unnamed Japanese investor. The Japanese aviation market is worth $7.25 billion as of 2026, with this deal highlighting continued demand from the country.

Enduring Appeal of the CF6
Japanese investors remain some of the most active in the engine market, with the CF6 being one of the most popular widebody engines.
Discussing the sale, Auvinash Narayen, chief investment officer at AerFin, said:
“We continue to see a strong appetite from Japanese investors for mature, proven engine platforms. This transaction reflects both the enduring appeal of the CF6 and our capability to structure and deliver assets that align with investor expectations.”
The CF6, a reliable turbofan engine, powers a wide variety of aircraft, including the Airbus A300, A310, A330, and Boeing 747, 767 and Embraer E-767. It can generate up to 72,000 lbs of thrust.
