London Gatwick continues to rapidly expand its international routes with the launch of Air Arabia’s twice-daily flights to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Twice-daily flights connect London Gatwick and Sharjah
The first flight to Sharjah departed on Saturday, July 4, after a four-month delay from the original March 2026 start date due to the war in Iran.
It marked the arrival of a new airline and destinations at London Gatwick, adding to over 60 airlines and 230 destinations that the airport is offering passengers this summer.
Air Arabia is deploying an Airbus A321neo on the route, which will become twice daily starting from July 10.
Operating from the airport’s North Terminal, the route provides excellent flexibility for both business and leisure travellers. It offers morning and evening departures, allowing passengers to choose their flight times while also benefiting from direct access to the UAE.
Sharjah allows travellers to experience a rich mixture of culture, heritage and modern attractions and, located less than 30 km from Dubai, it provides convenient access to one of the Middle East’s most popular destinations.

Expanding London Gatwick’s global network
Adel Al Ali, CEO of the Air Arabia Group, said:
“The introduction of our new service to London Gatwick marks a significant addition to Air Arabia’s growing international network and reinforces our dedication to offering customers greater travel choice, convenience and value. This new connection further strengthens connectivity between both nations supporting growing demand for air travel while fostering tourism, business and cultural exchange.”
Air Arabia’s Sharjah service is one of 11 new routes launched from Gatwick this year, reflecting continued demand from carriers to operate from the airport and supporting the growth of both its short- and long-haul networks.
Jonny Macneal, head of aviation development at London Gatwick, said:
“Welcoming Air Arabia to London Gatwick is another important milestone in the growth of our airline portfolio and route network. The twice-daily schedule offers excellent flexibility for passengers and strengthens our connectivity to the Middle East, while expanding the choice of destinations available from London Gatwick.”
