Avianca has announced that it will relocate its operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4, as the airline looks to support its continued growth in South Florida and improve the passenger experience.
The first flight to depart from the new terminal will be the Fort Lauderdale to Bogota service on June 29, 2026.

Move supports growing operations
According to the airline, the move to Terminal 4 will allow it to centralise its operations in a larger space while accommodating increased flight activity at FLL.
The terminal also offers improved passenger flows and operational efficiencies for international travellers, including access to US Customs and Border Protection services.
In a statement, Avianca commented on the role of FLL:
“Fort Lauderdale is a key market for Avianca, and this relocation reflects our continued commitment to strengthening our operation in South Florida while offering customers a smoother and more efficient travel experience.”
The airline added that Terminal 4 provides the space and operational flexibility needed to support future growth while improving connections between South Florida, Latin America and the rest of its network.

Expanding its network
Avianca said it is working closely with FLL and the Broward County Aviation Department to ensure the relocation is completed smoothly.
As part of the transition, the airline will update its systems, passenger information platforms, distribution channels and airport signage to reflect the terminal changes, which passengers are encouraged to check prior to flying.
Avianca currently connects 14 cities across Latin America with destinations across the US as well as more than 80 destinations across the Americas and Europe. The move to Terminal 4 is expected to provide additional capacity and operational flexibility as Avianca continues to expand its presence in the US market.
