Qatar Airways flight services remain temporarily suspended as airspace closures across the Middle East continue to disrupt global travel. The Doha-based airline issued updated guidance to passengers on March 3, outlining support measures while regional instability linked to the Iran-Israel conflict affects operations.
Qatar Airways Issues Service Update
According to disruption tracking data from Flightradar24, around 4,000 flights are currently being cancelled daily across affected airspace, with at least 11,000 flights scrapped since the conflict began. Doha’s Hamad International Airport has seen cancellation rates reach as high as 96%, while Dubai International has recorded similar levels of disruption.
In its latest statement, Qatar Airways confirmed a temporary suspension of flight operations due to airspace restrictions and safety concerns. The airline said it is closely coordinating with government authorities and aviation regulators while monitoring developments before resuming regular services.
The carrier advised passengers not to travel to the airport unless they have received confirmation that their flight is operating. Customers with affected bookings are being offered rebooking options or refunds in line with airline policies. Qatar Airways also confirmed to provide accommodation, meals and medical assistance and requested direct travellers to check flight status updates through official channels.
The airline stressed that safety remains its top priority and said operational decisions are being made in response to rapidly evolving airspace conditions.
Limited UAE Services Resume Amid Wider Suspensions
Some limited services resumed on March 2 and March 3 in the United Arab Emirates. Etihad Airways, Emirates and flydubai restarted a small number of flights. However, operations remain restricted and subject to change at short notice as airspace limitations continue.
Most international carriers have extended suspensions across the Middle East, contributing to thousands of daily cancellations and ongoing uncertainty for travellers.
