What is Wizz Air?

Wizz Air is a Hungarian low-cost airline that files across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

The airline serves nearly 200 destinations on over 800 routes in 50 countries. It mainly uses Airbus A320 and A321 planes. Wizz Air keep prices low by cutting extra services, making it a popular choice for budget-conscious travellers. However, you can pay extra for additional services such as checked baggage, seat selection and onboard food or drinks.

Its main bases are in Budapest, London Luton, and Bucharest, making it a multinational airline with Hungarian roots and UK and Maltese branches.

The Wizz Discount Club

Wizz Air offers a paid membership called the Wizz Discount Club, where members get discounts on flights and baggage all year. You can also receive updates about new deals and promotions through the WIZZ newsletter.

Membership options include:

  • Light – Free membership with fewer benefits but access to onboard coupons
  • Standard – You and one companion
  • Standard Plus – You and five companions
  • Premium – Priority boarding and premium seats

However, the value of these memberships depend on how often you fly with Wizz Air and how many people travel with you.

The Santa Special

The Santa Special is not a specific flight service, but a set of low-fare festive deals and flights to popular Christmas destinations such as Lapland, Finland, and various other European Christmas markets.

With fares starting at €19.99, you can explore festive cities, enjoy Christmas markets and have a cosy holiday away in a new place for a lower cost.

These low prices make it easier to take spontaneous trips and quick getaways. They also will encourage more people to travel over the winter holidays to visit family and friends, who might otherwise have avoided flying due to the cost of peak season.

However, these discounts are only limited to selected flights and not all destinations may be discounted.

Are you looking for a cosy winter getaway? Is this festive deal what you were looking for? Let us know down below!
