Hawaiian Airlines and Disney are celebrating the upcoming release of Lilo & Stitch, with the beloved alien taking to the skies on three special liveries. The first livery launched on May 7, presenting Stitch on the Hawaiian’s Airbus A330. The second livery will be revealed next week on an Airbus A321, and the third livery is set for next month on a Boeing 717.

Stitch Takes Over

Hawaiian Airlines and Disney have partnered to produce three distinct Lilo & Stitch liveries that simultaneously depicts the famous alien character and highlights the key importance of family – or ohana. Hawaiian Airlines is proud to have Stitch decorate their aircraft, as the airline boasts their provision of authentic Hawaiian hospitality that makes passengers feel like part of the family, all the while connecting people across the world.

Alisa Onishi, Director of Brand and Culture at Hawaiian Airlines, has said:

“At Hawaiian Airlines, Hawai’i is our home, and we consider our guests to be our ‘ohana.’ Our hope is that all who visit our islands feel welcomed from the moment they step onboard, just as Lilo welcomed Stitch. We’re also excited to have Stitch be our new Travel Pono ambassador through an AR experience and as the star of our in-flight video, where he learns valuable lessons on how to be a mindful visitor.”

Stitch won’t only be decorating the outside of Hawaiian’s aircrafts, but he will also provide passengers with on-board entertainment and mayhem. Stitch interrupts the carrier’s Travel Pono video that provides helpful tips for how guests can visit the Hawaiian Islands responsibly; ‘Searching for Stitch’ is an AR experience that encourages people to find Stitch through an interactive digital travel guide that explores the Hawaiian Islands; and exclusive Lilo & Stitch merchandise will be available onboard and online. The animated Lilo & Stitch film and Lilo & Stitch: The Series are also available to watch in-flight.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch will release to cinemas on May 23 – reimagining the 2002 classic into a live-action movie that delves into the fantastical tale of a wild fugitive alien, a lonely Hawaiian girl, and the true meaning of family.
