British Airways Embraces Digital Transformation in Maintenance

MRO-PRO, the cloud-based platform will modernise how the airline handles maintenance for its third-party customer aircraft, offering real-time data visibility and faster decision-making.

The rollout of MRO-PRO’s system across British Airways’ maintenance network will equip engineers with mobile tablets to record live technical data directly at the aircraft.

This live reporting will allow British Airways and its clients to monitor progress instantly, significantly reducing delays and improving operational transparency.

Smarter Scheduling and Streamlined Operations

At the heart of the new system is MRO-PRO’s resource planning module, a tool that intelligently forecasts maintenance requirements hour by hour.

By combining live flight data with engineer availability and qualifications, the system ensures precise staffing and rapid task allocation.

Beyond digital task management, the platform will also handle logistics, spares coordination and billing for third-party maintenance.

Automating these processes is expected to boost efficiency and reduce manual administrative effort.

Full implementation is scheduled for completion by January 2026, covering over 30 global stations including London Gatwick, Manchester, New York, Miami, Sydney and Delhi.
