SAS and Virgin Atlantic expand their bilateral codeshare agreement and introduce a few more codeshare flights from London Heathrow, offering an increasingly seamless travel experience for business and leisure travellers alike.

Shared Destination Network for Increasingly Seamless Travel Experience
The bilateral collaboration between Virgin Atlantic and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) began back in October 2024, when SAS officially joined the Sky Team in September of the same year.
In the expanded collaboration this time, the SAS flight code “SK” will be placed on flights operated by Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow Airport, connecting to destinations including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Dubai, and Malé in the Maldives.
This expanded codeshare opens up the destination network available for travellers of both airlines and offers an increasingly seamless travel experience across the globe.
Paul Verhagen, SAS’s Chief Commercial Officer, sees this deepened collaboration as an opportunity to open up new markets for SAS:
“This expanded codeshare with Virgin Atlantic strengthens SAS’ offering to both business and leisure travelers by opening up more options to popular destinations. By placing our code on Virgin Atlantic flights, we make it easier for our customers to connect seamlessly through London Heathrow and enjoy a smooth travel experience.”
