Firm Order for 50 Aircraft, with Rights to 50 More

Avelo Airlines is expected to welcome up to 100 aircraft to its fleet. The airline has placed a firm order for 50 Embraer E195‑E2 aircraft, with the purchase rights for 50 more aircraft.

The move aligned with the airline’s strategy to provide affordable flight services across the United States. The deliveries of aircraft are expected to start in the first half of 2027.

The total list-price value of the firm order $4.4 billion (£3.25 billion), excluding the purchase rights.

Fleet Modernisation to Boost Efficiency and Reach

Avelo Airlines is set to modernise its fleet with the addition of Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

It will complement its existing Boeing 737NGs. In particular, the move is expected to enhance cost efficiency and to benefit the airline’s network expansion.

One of the key features of the E195-E2 aircraft is its short-field performance with Embraer’s proprietary Enhanced Take-off System (E2TS).

It is beneficial for Avelo in accessing new markets and enhancing operational efficiency in several airports.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said:

“We are thrilled to partner with Embraer and bring this best-in-class small narrowbody airplane to the United States marketplace. The aircraft’s exceptional performance, size, and efficiency make it the perfect choice for the future growth of our scheduled service network.”

Embraer Commercial Aviation President and CEO Arjan Meijer:

“The E195‑E2 is a game‑changer for airlines that want to grow profitably while elevating the guest experience. Avelo complements its narrowbody fleet with the best-in-class E195-E2. Its exceptional fuel efficiency, quiet operations, and short‑field capability will unlock new markets and optimize capacity across its network – all with a cabin that passengers truly love.”
