Alaska Airlines is expected to add seven new routes to connect destinations across the Pacific Northwest and California. The routes are expected to start operating from October.
About the network expansion of Alaska Airline’s new routes
Alaska Airlines, an American airline based in the Seattle metropolitan area, is expected to add three services from Hollywood Burbank Airport to destinations in Oregon and Washington state, including Eugene, Pasco, Redmond, and Ontario.
In addition, the airline will also provide wintertime service to connect San Diego and Sun Valley to fulfil the demand during the holiday season.
The airline is also planning to operate flights between Boise and Southern California and a route to connect Palm Springs and Santa Rosa.
Details of the new routes
The routes from Burbank to Eugene, Pasco, and Redmond are expected to be a year-round service starting on the 26th October this year, and the services will run daily.
The service between Palm Springs and Santa Rose, also expected to begin on the 26th October, will fly five times per week during the winter.
The flights to connect San Diego and Sun Valley are also a winter service, expected to begin on the 18th of December with three weekly services.
The routes to connect Boise and Ontario, and services run between Spokane to Orange County, are expected to run on a year-round basis with daily operation.
All of the new routes that are launching this time are expected to fly with the aircraft model E175.
About the aircraft Embraer 175
E175 aircraft, the model that is expected to fly with all seven new routes, is designed for short to mid-distance hauls.
The aircraft features 76 wide seats with no middle seats, which allows all passengers to enjoy either a window or aisle seat. The aircraft also offers in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi.
First Class travellers can also access the power outlet, which is situated on the seats.
Alaska Airlines Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning Kirsten Amrine said,
“We’re the only global airline based on the West Coast, and we’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington and Oregon. These new additions further expand our ability to take our guests between growing markets in California and the Pacific Northwest for leisure and business travel.”
