Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, will once again reintroduce its route between the Isle of Man (IOM) and Belfast City (BHD) for the Christmas period, following the success of a similar route last year.

Connecting the Isle with Northern Ireland

Loganair will operate three return services on 20 December, 27 December and 3 January in order to meet demand during the festive period. The flights are set to provide important connectivity at the busiest point of the year, operated by an ATR 72-600 which has 72 seats.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, celebrated the return of its popular route:

“Reinstating our Isle of Man to Belfast City route for Christmas helps ensure passengers can travel home or welcome loved ones during the festive period. We know how important this connection is at this time of year, and we’re pleased to once again provide this valued service. We remain committed to supporting the Isle of Man with vital air connectivity and are proud to play our part in making Christmas travel easier and more accessible.”

Flights are on sale now via Loganair’s website, with fares starting from £69.99. Customers will benefit from a 21kg luggage allowance (15kg hold luggage and 6kg carry-on luggage) and other perks such as discounts for children under the age of 11.

Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, shared Lovegrove’s enthusiasm for the route’s return:

“We’re pleased to see the return of Loganair’s festive flights to the Isle of Man, offering passengers a convenient option for reuniting with family and friends during one of the busiest times of the year. With up to 10,000 people passing through the terminal each day in the lead-up to Christmas, these seasonal services play an important role in reconnecting loved ones. Whether they’re travelling to the Isle of Man or returning to Belfast, with our unrivalled location just minutes from the heart of Belfast, passengers can enjoy a smooth and stress-free start to their journey.”

Geoff Pugh, Interim Airport Director for Isle of Man Airport, also shared his thoughts:

“We know establishing these flights for Christmas 2025 will make a real difference to the community, helping friends and family reconnect at such a special time of year. We fully recognise the ongoing demand for year-round connectivity and are actively engaging with airlines on this. In the meantime, we thank Loganair for their commitment and responsiveness to the needs of our passengers.”

With a population of around 84,000, the Isle of Man is a British Crown dependency located in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. Similar to Gurnsey, which is also a Loganair destination, the Isle of Man is self-governing and has its own language, history and culture for visitors to explore. Its highlights include its rugged coastline, ancient castles and the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Motorcycle Races. The island is also home to its very own airline and the Manx Aviation and Military Museum.
