Honouring 33 Million Cups of Tea Served Annually

To honour their long-standing partnership Emirates and Dilmah are offering hand-picked gift boxes containing a trio of the most celebrated Dilmah tea flavours – Emirates Signature (Dombagastalawa FBOP1 scented with Rose), Moroccan Mint, and Almond and Ginger to those on flights over 2.5 hours. First and Business-class flyers will also be able to order crafted Dilmah tea cocktails and mocktails across all Emirates lounges, as well as traditional hot teas.

Emirates and Dilmah in Partnership

As a homage to the intricate history of tea brewing, the cabin crew receives dedicated training to discover the sustainable origins of Dilmah, enhance flavours with lemon and mint, and offer food pairing recommendations to those on board. A wide range of Dilmah teas will be offered on flights globally, depending on class, including Original Earl Grey, Brilliant Breakfast, and Emirates Signature Tea (Dombagastalawa Estate, with safflower, marigold flowers, rose, ginger, and almond). Through their partnership, they have delivered a significant socio-economic benefit to the Sri Lankan economy, and plantation industry, and raised awareness of the significance of tea.

The History of Dilmah

Dilmah is the first producer-owned ethical tea brand globally where the tea is cultivated, handpicked, and packed at origin – perfectly preserving its natural goodness and ensuring its unrivalled position as one of the finest teas in the world. The estate is nestled between picturesque waterfalls and mountain tops, with tea picked in the central hills of Sri Lanka. This family-owned company withers, rolls, ferments, and fires tea leaves with sophisticated aromas and tastes keeping it fresh from plantation to cup. Honouring their father, the late Merrill J. Fernando, Dilhan, and Malik continue offering ‘cups of kindness’ to the world. Through Dilmah’s MJF Charitable Foundation the partnership with Emirates benefits thousands of children, women, and men in need.
