airBaltic Training Report
airBaltic Training has released their performance reports for 2024, indicating strong growth and overall success. There are currently one-hundred-and-sixty-three active students at the airBaltic Pilot Academy, hailing from all over the European Union. This includes Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Spain, and Italy, exhibiting airBaltic’s expansion outside of the Baltics. More than ten-percent of these students are female, presenting the slow increase toward greater inclusivity and diversity. As of now, one-hundred-and-thirty-one students have joined airBaltic after graduating from the Pilot Academy.
In 2024, over one-hundred-and-twenty student pilots trained with airBaltic Training’s certified training fleet of ten aircraft – comprised of nine Diamond DA40 and one Diamond DA42. This high number of students contributed to setting a new record of nearly seven-thousand-and-nine-hundred flight hours of initial flight training, seeing a rise of eighty-percent in comparison to the year before.
Full flight simulator training hours also hit a record of five-thousand-and-eight-hundred in 2024, with the installation and certification of a second Airbus A220 simulator at the airBaltic Training Centre. This significant expansion underpins airBaltic’s long-term fleet strategy as the airline currently operates fifty Airbus A220-300 aircraft and strives to reach one-hundred by 2030.
These achievements over the last year have amassed an operating revenue of nearly EUR 5.5 million for airBaltic Training. This is a thirteen-percent increase year-on-year. Overall, airBaltic Training recorded a positive financial result of almost EUR 190 thousand for 2024.
CEO of airBaltic Training, Vilmantas Vaclovas Mažonas commented:
“2024 was a confident and successful year for us. We set records in pilot and simulator training, expanded our maintenance and technical education programs, and further strengthened our role as a leading training center in the region. The airBaltic Pilot Academy – and in the future, also the Technical Academy – serve as a cornerstone of our long-term growth. Their successful operation is already delivering tangible results and will continue to play a vital role in advancing airBaltic’s overall growth strategy.”
