Emirates plans to strengthen its presence in Asia this Summer. The airline is introducing services to Shenzhen (China), Da Nang (Vietnam), and Siem Reap (Cambodia). This expansion marks Emirates’ fourth gateway into China, third destination in Cambodia, and second route to Cambodia.

So, what do these destinations have to offer?

Expansion into Shenzhen

Emirates’ route to Shenzhen means they will be the first Middle Eastern airline to offer daily flights to China’s third most populated city. Many consider the city as China’s technology and innovation hub. Yet, it’s also a metropolis that offers incredible shopping destinations and viewpoints such as the 600m-tall  Ping’an International Finance Centre skyscraper.

There will be daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Shenzhen from July 1, 2025. These flights have been scheduled to optimise connections to and from key points across the globe. The first flight will take off at 10:05 local time, and land in Shenzhen for 22:00. The next-day return takes off from Shenzhen at 23:55, landing in Dubai at 03:40.

Emirates will be modelling the Boeing 777-300ER to Shenzhen. This makes the city the first Chinese destination to be served with 777-300ER. This aircraft offers customers the latest Business Class seats and highly acclaimed Premium Economy product. Overall, the four-class 777-300ER offers eight private suites in First Class, 40 lie flat seats in Business Class, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 260 spacious seats in Economy.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer said:

Our expansion into Shenzhen opens new doors for business and economic exchange between this technological powerhouse and global markets. As we prepare to launch operations, we extend our gratitude to the Chinese authorities and airport partners for their ongoing support and are committed to ensuring this route’s success while fostering cultural bonds and unlocking future economic potential.

Shenzhen’s position as the country’s leading technological manufacturer generates valuable cargo operations for Emirates SkyCargo. Their freighter’s are expected to carry 10 tonnes of cargo per flight between Shenzhen and Dubai. Emirates is responsible for the transport of 2,000 tonnes of cargo from mainland China per week. The addition of Shenzhen will serve as a vital bridge between Chinese enterprises and global markets and the UAE.

Broadening network in Vietnam and Cambodia

Emirates is launching four weekly services to Da Nang on 2 June, and three weekly flights to Siem Reap on 3 June. Both destinations are connected via Bangkok, Thailand, where Emirates recently opened their largest lounge outside of Dubai.

The new weekly service into Da Nang, via Bangkok, is Emirates’ third gateway into Vietnam. The carrier will operate the Boeing 777 for these flights. Once again, Emirates have carefully timed these flights in order to suit worldwide customers. The first flight will depart from Dubai at 09:00, arriving in Bangkok at 18:25. Then, from Bangkok at 20:10 to Da Nang at 23:30. These flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

On the other hand, the airline’s three services to Siem Reap will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Similarly, the initial flight will depart from Dubai at 09:00 and arrive in Bangkok at 18:25. The next flight will then depart from Bangkok at 20:10 and arrives in Siem Reap at 21:30.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer said:

With the addition of these new gateways, we’re strengthening our links, giving customers more choice, offering an unparalleled onboard experience and ensuring seamless and convenient connections to and from China’s largest cities, Vietnam’s emerging economic and leisure hubs, and Cambodia’s touristic treasures.

Travellers wishing to explore South East Asia can take advantage of Emirates Holidays’ multi-destination getaway. This package seeks to blend Dubai with Thailand and Vietnam or Cambodia, offering coastal escapes, cultural immersion, and scenic landscapes within one journey.
