Airbus delivered 766 commercial aircraft to 86 customers in 2024, marking a 4 percent increase compared to 2023 when 735 aircraft were delivered. The company attributes the growth to sustained demand across its product line, particularly for single-aisle and widebody aircraft.

Airbus also reported 878 gross orders for the year, with a net total of 826 after cancellations. Widebody aircraft accounted for a significant portion of these orders, including 82 A330s and 142 A350s. By the end of 2024, Airbus’ order backlog had reached a record 8,658 aircraft.

Key Figures and Achievements

The 766 deliveries in 2024 were spread across Airbus’ four main aircraft families:

  • A220 Family: 75 aircraft, an increase from 68 in 2023.
  • A320 Family: 602 aircraft, up from 571 in 2023. The A321neo accounted for 60% of single-aisle deliveries.
  • A330 Family: 32 aircraft, the same as the previous year.
  • A350 Family: 57 aircraft, slightly down from 64 in 2023.

The Company highlighted key milestones during the year, including the first deliveries of its A321XLR, as well as its A330neo and A350 models to several customers in multiple regions.

Widebody deliveries marked key milestones, with Airbus completing its first-ever A321XLR delivery and initial A330neo and A350 deliveries to new customers.

Airbus secured several widebody orders from major airlines, including:

  • A330neo: Cathay Pacific, VietJet, Virgin Atlantic.
  • A350: Delta Air Lines, IndiGo, Korean Air.
  • A350F (freighter): STELLUX Airlines.

Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, said,

“2024 confirmed sustained demand for new aircraft. We secured important customer decisions and saw strong momentum in our widebody order book, complementing our leadership in the single-aisle market. Given the complex and fast-changing environment we continue to operate in, we consider 2024 a good year.”

Record Backlog and Future Outlook

By the end of 2024, Airbus’ order backlog had reached 8,658 aircraft, setting a new record. The company attributed the demand to strong market confidence and growing partnerships with airlines worldwide.

Scherer thanked Airbus employees, and customers, saying:

It has been a massive team effort to deliver this result. We thank our customers for their trust and for growing partnerships with us across the world.

Airbus is set to publish its full-year financial results on February 20, 2025.
