British airline Flybe will launch its first ticket sales next week as the airline gears up for operations for the rest of the year.

Tickets are planned to go on sale from Tuesday 22 March with a list of routes, destinations, and low-cost fares.

The new and improved Flybe

The renewed carrier will offer its first fares since relaunching as preparations to start operations in the Spring continue.

CEO Dave Pflieger spoke of the new routes and their part in the relaunch:

“Next week is going to be an exciting time for customers and communities that have been waiting to hear from us about low fares, new routes, and new destinations – all of which are being timed to coincide with the restart of the economy and a return to normality after two difficult years for all.”

Flybe folded more than two years ago after failing to secure crucial financial aid (£100 million) from the British government.

The carrier was bought out and saved by a shell company of the airline’s former shareholder Cyrus Capital, and a relaunch was announced in April 2021. Since then, Flybe has been working on a successful relaunch that promises success.

A new base

Flybe has also recently revealed the location of its second base of operations. Belfast City Airport will be the second home of the new British carrier. In November, it was confirmed that the airline’s primary base and headquarters will be at Birmingham Airport.

When returning to the Irish airport, Flybe faces competition in the form of a couple of other airlines, Aer Lingus being one of them and the recently launched Emerald Airways being the other.
