British Airways, the United Kingdom’s flag carrier, and Viva, a major Mexican airline, announced a new codeshare agreement on Nov. 3, 2026. This new codeshare agreement will give customers more choice and connectivity when they travel between the United Kingdom and the Americas.

The new codeshare partnership

According to the new codeshare partnership, British Airways customers will now be able to book connecting journeys to or from 13 destinations across Mexico served by Viva, which includes major Mexican cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta. This applies while travelling via Mexico City (MEX) and Cancun (CUN) to London.

Around 13 destinations overseen by Viva can be booked under a British Airways flight code on ba.com. This allows customers to book their journey via a single transaction, which makes for a seamless travel journey. Members of The British Airways Club will also be able to earn Avios and tier points when travelling.

The new codeshare partnership will allow travellers from London and across Europe to better access within Mexico and the ability to connect to British Airways’ global travel network. As Viva is Mexico’s most most affordable budget airline, it has transported 180 million passengers over its 20 year history. Viva connects passengers to over 60 destinations within Mexico and the broader Latin American region.

More about the airline partnership

The new codeshare partnership between British Airways and Viva opens up Mexico as a new market for British Airways’ existing customer base. It also provides more choice to customers when planning their holidays and travel journeys.

To announce the new partnership, codeshare flights between British Airways and Viva are available to book online. Flights can be booked now at ba.com, for travel up to 28 March 2027.
