Virgin Atlantic has announced that it is reintroducing its full US routes and increasing capacity to New York, San Francisco, and Atlanta.

Next week, flights to Seattle and Washington DC will commence, and services to New York, Atlanta and San Francisco will start increasing. Starting on the 2nd March, there will be five flights per week between London Heathrow and Seattle Tacoma. Virgin will be using the Boeing 787-9 aircraft on this route, which includes an onboard bar for those travelling in Upper Class.

From the 5th March, Virgin Atlantic will begin operating flights between London Heathrow and Washington DC five times per week, using an Airbus A330.

Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, Juha Jarvinen, stated:

“Following the relaxation of travel restrictions, we’ve seen demand increase to many of our global destinations, but particularly to our heartland in the USA. Our customers can’t wait to return.

“The restart of our Seattle and Washington DC services mark an important milestone, as we move into recovery and welcome our customers back on board to all the destinations they’ve missed.  We’re simply not Virgin without the Atlantic and our growing transatlantic portfolio demonstrates why we’re the airline of choice to the USA.”

New Route

Last month, Virgin also announced that from 25th May 2022, they will be adding a new US route between London Heathrow and Austin Texas. These flights will be operated using a Boeing B787-9.

About Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic was founded in 1984 by British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, and the airline currently serves 27 destinations across four continents. Last year, Virgin Atlantic was awarded Britain’s only Global Five Star Airline by APEX.
