Last Spring, Bournemouth Beach was the epicenter of an unwelcome Covid-19 Super Spreader. However, almost a year on, and Bournemouth Airport’s travelers can now look forward to Flight Operations’s recommencing to many of Europe’s most storied destinations.

Indeed, post-clocks from now on, Bournemouth Airport will witness the first phase of its restarting routes plan, with Ryanair expected to fly to Faro on 29th March. Suffice to say that all such plans are subject to change, but one can only hope it’s an irreversible plan to the Freedom of the Skies!

Route Rollout

Those wanting a May-Day Bank Holiday getaway will have the prospect of being able to fly to sunshine, as the following routes open up:

1st May: Malaga and Palma (Balearic Islands)

3rd May: Alicante and Girona

4th May: Tenerife (Canary Islands)

Meanwhile, if you prefer a majestic history and culture spot, then Krakow is also an option from 1st May.

Mediterranean May

As May unfolds, TUI will resume operations from Bournemouth Airport, with the Panoramic Mediterranean Coastline taking precedence. The flight schedule will be as follows:

17th May: Corfu

18th May: Palma and Kefalonia

19th May: Menorca and Paphos

20th May: Lanzarote

21st May: Antalya

22nd May: Rhodes

23rd May: Zante

Scenic Summer

In June, Ryanair will continue its no-frills offering to Paphos, Bergerac, and Murcia. The latter will witness the return of its major annual cycling event, La Vuelta an Espana, on 20th August.

On 1st July, Ryanair will resume flights to Malta. Covid-19 permitting, the island could see the return of summer music festivals!

Autumn Appetite

TUI will resume services to the Canary Islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria during September and October. Atlantic Ocean sunshine beckons if visiting either of these destinations.

Furthermore, EasyJet will resume services to Geneva on 10th December, at which point the city may witness its Escalade Festival’s return.

All being said, it is important to note that UK residents will only be able to travel abroad from 17th May at the earliest. This is subject to change and is based on the current plan for lifting lockdown restrictions.
