Today Flybe, Europe’s largest Regional Airline, rolled out Bombardier Q400 (REG G-JECP) in it’s new streamlined livery. Over the course of the next six years, with completion due for 2025; Over this time, 10 aircraft are said to be painted a year as Flybe’s all Bombardier Q400 and Embraer 175 fleet receive the livery over the next six years.

Co-ordinated in line with its existing fleet re-painting and planned maintenance programmes, Flybe’s new white and purple livery will, as a result, be delivered at no extra cost to the business. It was created and developed by the airline’s own in-house team and features a cleaner, more modern, streamlined design when compared to the existing all-over purple. It is a look that more strongly reflects an awareness of the airline’s brand positioning ‘Close to You’ which emphasises Flybe’s passion for connecting both local and 3regional communities.

In welcoming the first newly liveried aircraft into the fleet, Flybe CEO, Christine Ourmières-Widener, said: “Today marks a memorable new chapter in our airline’s history. To date, almost every part of our business has been touched by our ‘Close to You’ brand refresh and so refreshing our aircraft livery plays a significant part of strengthening that positioning as well as being an integral part of the ongoing programme to reinvigorate our fleet. The best part is that, by careful planning, we will achieve this at no additional cost to the business.”

The first due to receive the new livery shall be the aircraft still in Flybe’s ‘former’ white and blue livery which’ll be first to be re-painted, followed by those which have been purple for the longest period of time; and the four brand-new Embraer 175 jets scheduled for delivery in July 2019 will arrive from the factory decorated in the new streamlined livery.
