An Easyjet Europe Airbus A319-100 was descending towards Amsterdam when the aircraft received two lightning strikes. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Amsterdam’s runway 27 about 45 minutes after departure from Stansted. Registered as OE-LQY, performing U2-3005 from London Stansted, EN (UK) to Amsterdam (Netherlands).

A passenger booked onto the onward flight U2-3006 to London Stansted reported the inbound aircraft arrived on time, however, the captain came into the departure lounge and explained they had received two lightning strikes on arrival, the aircraft needed to be checked. A replacement aircraft took them to Stansted with a delay of about 4.5 hours.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration G-EZEB reached Stansted with a delay of 4:20 hours.
