easyJet Takes Off From London Luton

easyJet has revealed its latest travel option, with non-stop flights from London Luton to Tbilisi commencing in April 2025. Being the exclusive UK carrier to offer this journey, easyJet will run flights twice a week during the summer, presenting Tbilisi as an ideal vacation spot for Luton travelers.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, shared the airline’s excitement:

Today, we are excited to introduce a new route to a previously unreached location in our network. This signifies the initial occasion that we will offer direct access between the UK and Tbilisi, expanding our customers’ options and enhancing our unmatched network..

The airline also stated:

Tbilisi features charming Old Town alleyways, ancient sulfur baths, a vibrant arts community, as well as chances to savor authentic Georgian dishes and acclaimed wines.

British Airways Returns to Tbilisi

British Airways will bring Tbilisi back to its route network after a hiatus since 2013, offering a comprehensive flying experience for travelers. From March 30, 2025, British Airways will provide four weekly flights from London Heathrow to Tbilisi, with return tickets available from £275. This new route will enable passengers to conveniently access Tbilisi from eight UK airports, such as Edinburgh, Belfast, and Manchester, via Heathrow.

Neil Chernoff, the Chief Planning and Strategy Officer of British Airways, expressed his delight in reintroducing Tbilisi into their route network:

We’re delighted to welcome Tbilisi back into our route network. With its rich history and vibrant culture, we expect this to be a popular route for both leisure travelers and those visiting friends and family

Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, echoed this sentiment, adding:

We are proud that British Airways has decided to enter the Georgian market. This will significantly boost Georgia’s awareness within the UK market and improve connectivity with the USA, a strategic partner country of Georgia.

About easyJet

easyJet, a British low-cost airline, is one of the largest in Europe. Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou founded it in 1995, and it operates in multiple European countries and some destinations in North Africa and the Middle East. Known for its affordable air travel, easyJet follows a no-frills model, allowing passengers to pay lower base fares and opt for additional services such as baggage, seat selection, and food. Its main base is located at London Luton Airport, and it mainly caters to short- to medium-haul routes.

Furthermore, easyJet has expanded its network beyond core European cities to include more niche destinations in recent years. The airline provides travelers with a wider array of affordable travel options. Its flexible booking policies and no-cost flight changes during the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated its ability to adapt to market conditions and prioritize customer needs.

British Airways

British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier of the United Kingdom and one of the most prominent full-service airlines in the world. Founded in 1974, following the merger of several British airlines. The International Airlines Group (IAG) now incorporates it, along with other prominent airlines such as Iberia and Aer Lingus.

British Airways encountered difficulties, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to significant limitations on global air travel. Nevertheless, the airline has demonstrated resilience by implementing new health and safety protocols, offering flexible booking options, and making strategic changes to its routes. With the resurgence of recreational travel, BA has concentrated on reopening well-liked destinations and enhancing its high-end leisure services.

Both of the UK airlines offer travel packages for visitors to explore Georgia. From budget-friendly fares with easyJet to all-inclusive holiday packages from British Airways, there’s something for every type of traveler. The packages include exploring Tbilisi’s old town with easyJet or visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites around Kutaisi with British Airways. Additionally, British Airways offers connections to US cities like New York for UK travelers to easily explore Georgia or connect to other international destinations.

How do you think the growing ability to stay connected while traveling will impact the future of travel for people with UK airlines?
