Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet has signed a deal with global lessor Avolon to lease ten Airbus A321neos. The agreement was announced at the Paris Air Show on Wednesday, June 18.

AJet expands fleet with Avolon
The low-cost airline is set to receive the new aircraft in 2027. The lease agreement is meant to help the carrier renew its fleet and, in turn, expand its network. The Turkish Airlines’ subsidiary currently has a fleet of 92 aircraft.
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, said:
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Avolon through this latest agreement. The addition of these next-generation A321neo aircraft will support AJet’s growth strategy while contributing to our sustainability goals with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We look forward to continuing our cooperation as we expand AJet’s network and enhance its fleet.”
Aircraft lessor Avolon’s current delivered fleet includes 140 A320neo family aircraft. It has an order book of 94 A320neo family aircraft. These aircraft are meant to be more fuel efficient, burning 20 percent less fuel and producing fewer CO2 emissions. They also reduce noise by 50 percent compared to the previous generation Airbus A320 aircraft.
Andy Cronin, Avolon CEO, said on the deal:
“We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Turkish Airlines and support AJet’s continued growth. Our large A320neo family orderbook is in high demand from airlines who are looking to expand their route networks and renew their fleet with new technology aircraft. This positions us as a preferred partner for airlines and, coupled with our scale and balance sheet strength, will drive sustained growth for the business well into the next decade.”
