Amalfi Coast is a special tourist destination with views of the blue sea, beautiful cliffs, and the smell of lemons in the trees, located on the coastline in southern Italy and with 5 million tourists each year. Currently, the simplest way to travel to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast is by taking a flight to Naples International Airport and using transport (bus and train) or, alternatively, travel by car, which is about 62.3 km in distance. The opening of Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport will facilitate travellers’ lives according to the current travel distance.
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport is 45 kilometres southeast of Amalfi city and 21 kilometres from Salerno – founded almost 100 years ago and making it used as a flying school, military, and private airport; in 2007, it started operating several commercial flights but ended up shutting them completely in 2016. With plans to build a new terminal by 2027 and complete airport development by 2043, Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport expects to serve six million passengers annually in the future.
