TAP Air Portugal launched a new direct flight route from Lisbon to Florianópolis on Tuesday. The inaugural flight, TP109, arrived at Hercílio Luz International Airport yesterday. This marks the start of a regular service with three flights per week.

Luís Rodrigues, President of TAP, shared his thoughts about this new route while attending the inaugural flight:

We’re thrilled to add this new destination to our route network. We’re confident that this flight will be popular with both Brazilian and European travelers. The strong demand we’ve seen since opening sales for this route is a testament to this.

Flights between Lisbon and Florianópolis

TAP will launch new flights connecting Lisbon and Florianópolis three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Departures from Lisbon occur between 10:10 and 10:50 in the morning, with the flights landing in Florianópolis between 5:15 and 5:55 in the evening. In the opposite direction, the flights depart from Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina, between 7:35 and 8:40 in the evening and arrive in Lisbon the following morning between 9:50 and 10:55.

TAP Air Portugal currently offers direct flights from Lisbon to 13 Brazilian cities, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis, and Manaus. The airline also connects Porto with São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, providing 15 routes between Portugal and Brazil.

Furthermore, TAP Air Portugal will reinstate its route between Lisbon and Manaus, the capital of Amazonia. This service will operate three times weekly, with a stopover in Belém on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The first flight on this route will take off on November 4th.

TAP Air Portugal has once again been recognized as the top airline for flights to South America. This prestigious award from the World Travel Awards marks the tenth consecutive year of this achievement. Effectively, it highlights the airline’s exceptional service. In addition, TAP was awarded the Best European Airline for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in 2023.

Concerning the direct destination, known affectionately as “Magic Island” or “Floripa,” Florianópolis is a captivating destination. It offers breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, and a rich cultural heritage. The city consists of the main island, Ilha de Santa Catarina, a small mainland section, and several surrounding islands, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe.
